The CARE Network trains medical and behavioral health providers to build local capacity for child maltreatment expertise. This network is a free service for the community, local public child welfare agencies, and law enforcement (medical insurance may be billed). The program is administered by the Kempe Center through a contract with the Colorado
Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE).
The network was created through legislation in Colorado (HB19 1133) to serve children who are impacted by maltreatment. When children do not have access to specialized services, they do not receive the care they need.
I’m a licensed mental health professional in Colorado, and one of the behavioral providers within the CARE network. I was attracted to becoming a CARE Network provider because of the opportunity to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in addressing child maltreatment concerns, ensuring that both medical and behavioral health needs are thoroughly assessed. Additionally, the network's commitment to providing critical support and resources to children and families in vulnerable situations aligns with my passion for advocating for the well-being of children and families.
As a behavioral health provider with CARE Network I am trained to complete culturally appropriate evaluation to identify ongoing needs and treatment recommendations, including referrals for therapy for your child. I will meet with you and your child in my office for about 1-2 hours, I may ask you to complete additional assessment is needed.
As a result of the assessment you will receive the treatment recommendations for your child.
As a provider I will ensure you fully understand the results of the evaluations. I will participate in multidisciplinary meetings, and testify in court when necessary.
I will provide resources for needed services for your child and/or the family. You will receive a list of agencies offering therapy modalities, which would be most appropriate and effecting in helping your child.
My main office is in Boulder however I partner with offices all around Colorado to make it easier for families to participate in the evaluation.
