Marta Jasinska, MA, LPC, CFI
A child and family investigator is appointed by the courts when parents cannot decide on issues related to their children, and need help with determining what will be best. These issues most often include parenting time and decision making, but can also include a desire to relocate or other important factors that would impact the children and their relationship with each parent.
These provide insight into each adult's perspective on the child's needs and family dynamics. I can't start the process, until the questionnaires are completed.
This allows for private discussions about each parent's views on parenting time and child's best interest, as well as a time to discuss the CFI process and evidences needed.
During these visits, I observe family dynamics, engage in art and play with the children, creating a comfortable and natural environment.
If needed, I meet with the children in a more structured setting to gather additional observations and insights.
I reach out to relevant individuals to gather a well-rounded view of the family situation. They are also able to complete a "Witness Statement".
I seek input from those who regularly interact with the child to provide further understanding of their well-being.
Including police reports, court documents, treatment summaries, mental health evaluations, children's attendance, or EIP plans.
This ensures the safety and well-being of the children involved in the case.
My current rates for CFI services are $125 per hour billed against a $3250 retainer. I am available to take state paid cases when the Court has determined that one or both parties meets criteria for indigent status.
